Dear All,
As you are all aware we are facing Covid 19 pandemic and the consequent lock down. Due to this community needs huge support, Rotary Bangalore Indiranagar has come forward with the following initiatives.
- Providing ration kits to the migrant labourers and daily wage earners. We initiated two crowdfunding campaign supported by Dist 3190 to raise funds for this cause. We have raised Rs.18.5 lacs through this initiative. We have also received large donations from various trusts, corporates, Rotary Bangalore IT Corridor and individual donors to our trust, so far amount raised through this effort is Rs. 40 lacs, till now a sum of Rs.58.5 lacs have been raised to provide rations to migrant labourers and daily wage earners.
We have partnered with President of Rotary Bangalore Shankarapark Rtn. Nagaraj & XLRI Alumni Group for making the ration kits and distribution.
So far we have supported distribution of 16000 ration kits.
A big thank you to Rtns. Sanjay Dugar, Rakesh Nayyar, Lata Amasi, & Sarvanan for their wonderful effort. Rtns. Peeyush Jain, Ajith Rai for substantial contribution & Rtn. Vijay Mane for coordinating Rotary Bangalore IT Corridor contribution. Many of our members have come forward to contribute to this cause, a big thank you to all of them.
- Under PM Cares Fund through Rotary we have so far contributed Rs.18.5 lacs. Prominent contributors are Rtns. Ghanshyam Agarwal Rs.15 lacs Prabhakar Bothireddy Rs.1 lac, Peeyush Jain Rs. 51,000/-, Suresh Patel Rs.25,000/-, Wq Cmdr Ashok Saraf Rs. 25,000/-, O P Khanna Rs.25,000/- and many more, a big thank you to all who have contributed to the PM Cares Fund.
- 50000 face masks were given to National Disease Control Center, New Delhi jointly with Rotary Club of Delhi Ashoka, Dist 3190 & Dist 3012. Cost of the project Rs.8,26,875/-. A big thank you to Rtn. Pradeep Lal and his brother Rtn. Manoj Lal for this initiative.
- Four clubs jointly propose to give a RT -PCR Covid testing equipment to Anand Diagnostic. Total cost of the machine is Rs.22 lacs. RBI will contribute Rs.5 lacs for the equipment. Thank you to our large hearted Ghanshyam ji for once again coming forward by contributing Rs. 2.5 lacs for this project.
- We provided essential rations to our adopted project BGMS worth Rs.20,000/-.
- Even after lock down our flagship project Karunashraya continues to provide care to the inmates. Our sincere appreciation and gratitude to staff, doctors and nurses for their dedicated service.
- A hand wash facility was installed outside Rotary House of Service with poster of right hand wash technique to benefit the nearby community.
Through our Covid 19 initiatives we have impacted 1,00,000 people, we have spent close to Rs.90 lacs & spent about 1000 man hours.
